Giraffes Can't Dance By Giles Andreae

Giraffes Can't Dance By Giles Andreae

Every year in Africa, there is a animal dance party that our hero, the giraffe Gerald, gets sad about. He would love to be able to dance a tango like a lion or do the cha-cha like the chimps. Instead, the whole jungle makes him feel self-conscious about his wobbly knees, and tells him that "giraffes can't dance." Gerald leaves the dance and meets a cricket who tells him that sometimes all someone who's different needs is... a different song. Gerald is inspired, boogies down, and is told he is the best dancer around by the community. More importantly, however, he gains self-confidence by dancing in his way to his song.

We recommend this book for ages three and up.
